The Hip are at the Orpheum, and so are we!

By Matt Perkins, 11:01 AM

If you're one of the thousands of Tragically Hip fans in Vancouver who are seeing the guys at one (or more!) of their three shows at the Orpheum this week, chances are you will see Hipeponymous too! "How is this possible," you ask? Simple ... we're busking across the street!

You will see us set up across Smithe Street between 7:00 and 7:30 PM before every Hip show. We have a couple of battery powered amps, and Fred is using a miniature version of his full kit. We're playing a few fan favourites - perhaps some songs you won't see the "real" band play inside. Our goal is to entertain fellow Hip fans, and show everyone what we're capable of. We hope you all enjoy it!

We have already been out for the first show on Monday, and it was super cool. Everyone standing in line and on the theatre's balcony loved what we were doing, and it was a total rush to play out in public like that to such a receptive crowd. We thank everyone who cheered and wished us well, and we hope you had a great time at the Hip's show inside.

Ouch. A little harsh don't you think. I don't know if the punishment fit's the crime.
